Depending on your problem(s) and the diagnosis of the cause(s), the doctor may need to use or recommend some or all of the procedures explained below.
To comply with chiropractic state board regulations, an explanation of "investigational" techniques must be provided to patients and "informed consent" obtained prior to such techniques being used.
"Investigational" techniques are defined as those not included in the curriculum of accredited chiropractic colleges and universities. The following procedures are used at our facility. Where applicable, the word Investigational appears in parentheses. If the word Investigational is not listed after a procedure, the procedure is currently "Approved" by the Oregon Board of Chiropractic Examiners.
Joint Manipulation/Mobilization
These are techniques to assist improving muscle tone and ranges of motion by reducing restrictions in joint mobility.
NeuroStructural Integration Technique (NST) (Investigational)
NST uses specific, subtle movements over muscles, nerves and connective tissue in a concise configuration to free tissue tensions and muscle imbalances so your body can more easily heal itself.
Soft Tissue Manipulation
Rapid and/or slow movement of parts of the body to assist in the release of adhesions (tight spots) and in the improvement of circulation and flexibility.
Corrective Exercises (Somewhat Investigational)
We use many specific exercises and routines proven effective but not taught in schools.
Physiotherapy
Includes heat or cold treatments, massage, or electrical therapies. Home instructions are often provided.
Dietary Recommendations
Individual dietary needs are determined after a nutritional history, examination, and any required laboratory tests.
Nutritional Supplementation
This may include vitamins, minerals, amino acids, enzymes, herbs, or combinations of these.
Enzyme Therapy (Somewhat Investigational)
Life can not exist without enzymes. Proper nutrition is dependent upon proper digestion. Enzyme Therapy involves determining the need for digestion enzyme supplementation as well as enzyme formulas to help provide nutritional support for specific organs, glands and systems.
TLC (Investigational)
| This untaught remedy is dispensed freely and whole-heartedly. | |
